HISTORY OF THE SOCIETY

   The Interventional Radiological (IR) Association of Thailand was founded in 1993 by Professor Emeritus Nara Vaeusorn. He has been the President of this association for 9 years. The IR Association has become the Thai Society of Vascular and Interventional Radiology (TSVIR) since September 2002.

   The committee of IR Association of Thailand has organized regular monthly vascular and interventional radiology (VIR) scientific meeting since the beginning. The venue is usually the Pra-Mongkutkloa Thai Army Hospital. However in some occasions, the meetings take place in other hospitals such as Chulalongkorn hospital , Bhumibol Adulyadej hospital, Thammasat University Hospital and Saint Louise hospital ,etc . We have organized the annual scientific meeting for 5 times. This year the committee of the TSVIR will organize not only the 6th annual TSVIR scientific meeting but also the Pre-congress workshop on the topic of " Better Quality of VIR and Noninvasive Vascular Imaging " The workshop is intended to increase and strengthen the knowledge and skill in VIR for the new comer interventional radiologists , technologists and nurses who are interested or working in this field. The workshop will be organized for two days prior to and together with the scientific meeting. The Pre-congress workshop and the annual scientific meeting will be organized together in commemmoration of King Rama V the Great within 3 day between 22-24 October 2003. The Theme of this meeting is " Future Dream Team of VIR " The venue of the workshop and the meeting is " Asia Pattaya Beach Hotel " Pattaya city Chonburi province.
